Well tomorrow is my final day
If anyone went thru this or is a manager who carried it out
What exactly happens ? Do we have to sign an NDA ?
Is there any time for final comments ? Has anyone worked their final day ?
Any feedback is appreciated

Yeah it was very bizarre ending...I had to ask them what to do. Then there's the dreaded pizza box dropped off by UPS. Won't even let us drop off at our own office. No statement no nothing. I assume they won't even mail a statement. Will we even get our W-2's mailed or they won't even do that either?
For the NDA if you don't sign from when I was RA'd the wouldn't give you the severance package. It's their cya where you won't come after them wrongful RA, ie age discrimination. Before shipping my laptop back to my flm I scrubbed the hard drive, either way they would need to reimage it. Last month I worked at home cleaning up my resume, posting for positions, listening to music
I was RA'd in the spring of 2010. For my last month, I did nothing (for the company)...no meetings, no telephone calls, no e-mails, no project work. Nothing. My FLM wanted nothing to do with me, and I didn't interact with any department staff.
On that last day, I was instructed by my FLM to go to a sales office in some city and meet with some pre-assigned FLM. I was a remote employee, and remote employees were told to see a pre-assigned FLM someplace. So I went there and met with that FLM for a final interview.
That final interview was scripted (of course), and consisted of me handing in my laptop and security badge, along with signing some forms. No suing the company, no taking confidential material, etc. In return for signing the forms, you get a final paycheck. For me, it was a cashier's check for 6 months of severance, plus accrued vacation, plus my last pay period. I got a cashier's check along with COBRA info, and the FLM said "Have a nice day" (really!)
And that's all she wrote...my IBM career came to a close.
@bt: No need to wipe out the computer, if the hard drive is encrypted. Besides, unless you have some personal data on it, who cares ?
I wiped out my laptop and reset it to manufactory state.
IBM no longer has HR; they have an awful chat bot. Your manager no longer has an HR human being assigned to them. They have the same mo--nic chat bot. Expect no help other than some paperwork that may or may not get to you either at your IBM id or the id you gave them when you leave. You cannot make this up; I was told by my mgr IBM would send a box to my home so I could mail back my laptop. IBM even F'd that up first by not sending it, then sending it with no return label, then having no contact point. Take a nice long hot shower and wash all the IBM crud off and file for unemployment Day 1. Then get out there and find a much better job at a much better company. Best of luck.
OP’s expensive job has been moved to a cheap third world country
There’s a last day checklist on w3… details include handing in your laptop, badge etc. I can’t locate the link (thought I’d saved it..) but if search on the intranet you should find it.
