Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Anyone else think the only tech strategy is layoffs

Each day gets a little worse with BE in charge. There is no communication no big vision. It feels like the last days of a company going out of business where even the shelves are being put up for sale. People are visibly miserable. Like openly talking about how much they hate it here miserable. No one cares anymore. Most are stuck because the job market is cr-ppy. If it turns around this place will lose thousands overnight.

@af
I agree.
It's seems as though they want to completely leverage the job market to recycle the workforce. Younger, hungrier, and cheaper labor. Whats a better time to do it when the economy su-ks for job seekers. They can pick and choose.

Former BNY Mellon employee here. I remember when Bridget disappeared from our company in 2024, and then she mysteriously ended up at WF. Word has it that she was fired. Was that true?

It's not just tech, OP. That's the plan for the entire company. We all go.

I’ve been around for a pretty long time. I’ve never seen morale like this. Even during the financial crisis and the scandals. Morale and getting things done were far better even as long as it took to get things done before. BE is about as visionary as Dillon (who got fired).

And OP, they don’t care they want attrition. Charlie said it flat out. And they’ll move more to India to reduce costs.

Worst managed company I've ever seen and I've been in technology 40+ years. Thank God I can retire. BE is borderline competent. There is absolutely ZERO vision and the communication is non-existent.

Actually the strategy is attrition through RTO and misery. Layoffs are a last resort as they don’t want to pay severance.

They know morale is at an absolute low. They don’t care.
