How many staff employees were laid off in this latest cycle?
Predicted staff to be layed off in 2026?
What’s the morale at work at the moment? It appears that those laid off are rather silent at the moment…

@17d 100% just about the reorg and getting rid of certain people. There are process changes I'm seeing but zero clarity and much confusion on them. The transition was not planned well at all.
Right now what I have seen is that we cut the people, but the hard work to cut the work out of the system has not occurred yet. I can only be hopeful that this is happening behind the scenes, though I don't know why after 1 year it wasn't ready to be rolled out at the same time. That simple fact makes me think that the past year has only been about reorg'ing and who to layoff and less about process improvement and efficiency
The bottom line is that the ELT always gets theirs’
@kz Or a sign that people read their settlement letter and the weak a$$ disparagement clause.
I thimk if they another EOI they could get 5 more percent or more than that.
We don't know layoff counts, simply not communicated. Best that can be done are estimates. There will be more in 2026, but again don't know how many.
Morale is absolutely terrible. Lots of people got demoted. Lots of people put in garbage jobs not remotely related to their experience. Pay changes seem to still be in progress. Most I've heard so far are keeping their annual amount but either losing a grade (to reduce vcip targets I'm sure) or have been switched to hourly. The hourly ones are field based. They have a chance to do something funny. Stack up overtime and make them realize it was a stupid idea.
When the chatter stops it’s a sign that other things also…stopped. Time to hang up the hat on The Layoff ConocoPhillips. For now at least. The next one is always just a turn around the next corner. Time will tell how soon or far it ends up being, but like all things on The Layoff when the chatter spikes it’s a sign of things to come.
This website is such frik’in garbage
