Yet another furlough

Agency just sprung the December furlough on me. 3 weeks this time. This is getting old real quick.

@az - After I left HP as a CW, I received a $45k raise working for an aerospace firm. I get more money and no furloughs. The downside is that the hiring company is very selective. They are looking for people with experience with hardware, software, and firmware.

I'm the tech lead who approved the $20,000 raise for the CW who commented below. Little do they know that extra furloughs will be applied to their schedule to offset the raise. There is also no plan of renewing their contract once it ends which is why I had them moved to a different temp agency.

Yeah, it’s hard to keep your head above water with all those furloughs. Furloughs are a sign of bad planning, hurts morale, and affects product quality in a negative manner since you always have to retrain constantly due to turnover. It also tells employees and contractors that the company considers them as expendable resources.

I got the same notice but I was also told that I would be getting a $20,000 raise when I get back so it's not that bad.
