Refining/chemicals path to success?

Is it truly as simple as our great leader DW makes it seem? Fire people as often as possible and the sky is the limit? After 10+ years in upstream chasing npv+ opportunities the downstream model exemplified by our most fearless and brilliant executive seems much more straight forward

All oil companies have no future, so the only lever is cost to ensure the lowest COP and therefore last man standing.

The fact there's no investment in innovation or business model shift confirms this.

DW is as clueless as everyone else.

everybody else who didn’t have the stomach for swinginess sold their refineries nearly 5 years ago. or even just turned them off in at least one case
