I mean, the FUD on this damn site strikes me as entirely fake. Everyone talking sh-t about risk layoffs (yet to see any big ones), now this week "more layoffs" (again, yet to see any..)

@1jd And here you are posting.
This board consists of cowardly lifers that will never evolve, always complain but never leave. It's sad.
OP, honeychild, you sound like a bitter nasty TROLL. Now be gone. Poof!
That is because no one knows what "risk" is. There are probably 50 groups in "risk" and some weren't touched while others were. I personally know of 15 people let go. Some on my team and a few scattered among a few other teams. I think the severance makes those being let go keep their mouth shut. They don't talk about it and everyone goes about there day like nothing happened. It may have been overstated how big the "risk" layoffs were but it su-ked for those targeted.
CPG has it all under control…. She’s gone by mid January to explore her east coast consultants for another role. JR has nobody left but her yes men.
I was in risk, was laid off with last day mid-nov, teams were consolidated then 40% were cut. Not a huge team and not a huge number of cuts in the grand scheme of things, but def cuts in risk.
Been here many years and layoffs are on the down low here. I know the bank is strategic about it being on the news so they do a couple here and there. This year alone, many people I worked with have been laid off. If I didn’t work personally with these people I would have never known.
This Bank seems to do layoffs covertly to avoid media attention. They don't do big bang announcements so far. I laid off two people in 2023. I know of probably about 50 people between then and now that have been let go.
Two years ago we had about 74,000 employees. Today we have about 68,000 I think but that will include some new additions. So my guess is they're probably have layoffs 5,000 layoffs in 2 years. Then add in some retirements and some people leaving voluntarily and getting fired. And you have what we have today.
And if you're wondering no I did not want to lay off people in 2023 but I was forced to. I did not enjoy one bit of it. It su-ked.
And yes we're being asked to do the more amount of work we did before they left. Do you more with less. The corporate mantra in America.
No one posting here will know the numbers. I know of one person who was let go in the name of a RIF, so 'something' definitely happened.
Most at this company are corporate bots drinking the koolaid and trying to scare others into being just like them.
Why would you think the company would advertise it? It’s nothing compared to the tens of thousands being laid off at big tech. A few here, a couple there maybe.
It's a big company. I hadn't heard of any layoffs until an old friend on another team called me and asked if I survived. Couple people on their team got cut.
I have no idea of it's a trickle or something more substantial, but I suspect most people are telling the truth, it's just not a huge percentage of total positions.
