CIB vs WIM

I have only been with the bank for 5yrs and I don’t know anyone who has successfully moved from WIM to the CIB side. I was wondering if there was “wall” not to hire anyone from the WIM side. I tried several times and only got one interview. Most of the times it rejected by HR in a few days. The roles I applied for were the same roles I’m currently performing in WIM

I’d say wim is safer than cib in the coming year

CIB ain’t anything to aspire to. There’s nothing any more interesting there than there is WIM. All the jobs are moving to India and NYC. If that’s your bag, then go for it.

CIB and WIM are both fairly specialized. They could be looking for someone with CIB experience specifically. Basically one of the drawbacks of the job title consolidation.

Or the recruiting process just messed up. Either the resume scanner or the actual recruiter. A lot of those recruiters have no idea what each LOB does. We used to have specific hiring recruiters dedicated to each LOB that would understand the businesses better. They might as well just contract that out at this point because there wouldn't be a difference

Recruiters are mo--ns for the most part and they likely get a ton of applicants. There's probably also some AI/scanning happening that rejects things. I applied for positions a few years ago that I had actually done previously-- not even an interview.

WIM seems like a totally different world for the rest of us. CIB is different too, but closer to other things in the bank than WIM.
