Does FIS allow unused vacation days to roll over to the next year?

Hi everyone.

Current TSYS employee here. I am wondering if FIS rolls over your unused vacation days to the following year. What's the policy around it? Because currently in GPN, we have to use it in the same year or lose it.

There are several states (including California) where it does, because of state laws. Check the handbook for which ones. These states make “use it or lose it” policies illegal for employees living in that state. Also applies to paying it out if you quit or get let go.

Not sure why I got so many thumbs down about 120 hours of sick leave carries over to the next year. I am reading it in the US Employee Handbook. 10.1.09.06. ‘Unused sick time carries forward to the filling year, up to a maximum of 120 hours.

Sick Days, Floaters, or Vacation Days can not be rolled over. And none of them that are accrued are paid when you quit, are laid off, or die.

Trying to find out for you. It doesn’t specify in the Employee Handbook, so I put a question out to HR.
I can tell you that they do not pay out vacation or sick time if you leave or are laid off. They took that benefit away earlier this year. 🤬

@a1 what about sick days? A lot of legacy TSYS folks have hundreds of hours banked.

@OP, unless state law where you live says otherwise, vacation time cannot be rolled over.
