I got laid off after about the same amount of time on my first job in the industry. Very dissappointed at the time but it taught me a valuable lesson that I have not forgotten. Ever since it's always been in the back of my mind that it could happen again. Has helped not get too far ahead of my skis financially.
This is the beginning friend, not the end
Band 8 dev here just got laid off too
For the young folks - if you have student loans of any kind - call your lenders today and ask for a deferment. Some will give it, some won't, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Most will give 6 months, which could be extended.
And remember this: getting a job at Verizon was not easy. You had what it takes to get in the door. You are taking those skills with you and more. Good luck to you all.
Same. I was an intern last summer and I was excited to start building my career. And now it’s over just like that. Now I have to decide whether to move back home or not.
@a2 I’m so sorry for your losses.
@OP best of luck im sure something better will work out for you.
@a1 GN&T, meeting 1-1 with boss, saw the slack and I knew it was coming but luckily I just had prepared during the week.
Sorry for your loss! Wish you well..totally understand the frustration. Best wishes…
You’re not done until DAN says you are. Quit your yapping and get to working. Haha
All jokes aside - hoping for the best for you and everyone else affected.
Same here man. I moved 900 miles away from family on the stipend. My uncle died and I couldn't be there for him. My dog just died yesterday, and I couldn't even be there for him either. This company felt like a waste of time to be part of.
Sorry to hear.
Which org you worked for?
Was it a meeting invite?
