Curious to know if anyone’s heard any feedback on how they’re making these decisions. Will it be our direct manager deciding who gets cut?

It depends on the band 5 leader. I was directed to do it all myself confidentially. I ultimately worked with my direct reports to make the decisions, aside from the ones there wasn't a choice on (location for example).
I was shown the draft from last week and wasn't asked for my feedback. Most made sense when you look at the direction the company is going but none of them deserved it.
Just got the word … tomorrow is gonna be a rough day …. Feel guilty for being safe … good luck and be well all
Mostly Senior directors calling the shots
@a1 I'm band 6, and I have not been approached. Neither has any of my peers that I am aware of. We're waiting for tomorrow just like everybody else.
@a4 it’s basically on liking, no AD here but seen it since 2015 waves.
Also, goes for hiring too, buddies get hired mostly.
@a2 so if your manager is bff with half the team, he has the opportunity to protect them..
Heard it was HR and not performance based
different per a org. band 5 picks the list and get feed back from band 6 or band 6 picks them and band 5 approves..or sometimes they share the list among band 6/band 5 and finalize...etc..
usually they have a list picked up much before the announcement
at the end of the day, feed back from your manager is the most important deciding factor usually. so..Kiss..A works all the time. Performance is not the deciding factor unless it's really bad.
@OP everything is hearsay until it's official, but word I've seen on these forums is that band 6 gets input (if they aren't being cut themselves) but band 5 is the one making the final decisions.
