Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Terrible VZ culture

It's going to be tough to right the ship after being so anti-customer for decades now.

I used Verizon cellphone service for a year in the late 1990's for sales position and was so put off by the overall experience I switched at first opportunity back to AT&T. In the mid-2010's I tried Fios and had the same terrible experience. Different LOB, same BS.

Verizon has a bad reputation with customers that will be difficult to shake off with promotions.

I was employed with old bell landline in the late 90’s …. I disagree with you immensely. Customer was #1 trust and adjust and then sell them something was the motto back then . Once deregulated and changing to verizon an entertainment company … executive pays went thru the roof and little focus on the customer and complete focus on a metric … nobody cared about the customer or doing things right . It was always about driving an arbitrary metric to get bonus payouts for execs. Lie cheat and steal to get there …. Those doing it are now advanced to higher positions in the company . Watch how big the struggle for some is to actually manage IF they try to right the ship and eliminate the shady dealings.

Honestly, after all of this we should all put our ratings on Glassdoor and any other platform on how we really feel about the company. Goal is a rating of 2.5.

I disagree. I have always had MUCH better service with Verizon. I remember being in Dallas a few years back and my co-workers and I were testing network speeds. AT&T was MUCH slower than Verizon. That being said, Verizon seems to have more "dead" zones than I would prefer...
