How often is your manager doing 1:1s

@v6 I never said it was the same dude. But I can see how you could've misread that.
Too f-ing often. Every. Bloody. Week. !!!
I dread the calendar stranglehold. I report to a Yes-Man Mo--n. (yea, you all know the type all to well. Unfortunately.)
Waste of f-ing time.
Inept loser sycophant so-called "managers". In their F-ing dreams.
F this loser place.
Every week… it’s so painful and non-value added!
We don't receive any useful direction anymore, so why have 1x1 meetings with your manager. We are all pretty much self directed now.
@j1 Seriously? How productive could it have possibly been for you if you are still reporting to the same dude after a decade? I'm sure he's good with his productivity maybe you need to set your sights a little higher?
@ne Interesting, I haven't had the maxxed out chat in several years. It was replaced by you are not getting promoted like you thought, not now, not ever. I guess I don't need to focus on one vs. the other. They have made their intentions pretty clear...
@ne+1kacythkq - EXACTLY!!!
HR must provide them with some sort of script.
We do the mandatory once-a-month ‘check-in’ purely for HR paperwork. The entire 30 minutes is the manager trash talking the company, the team, the industry, anything to run out the clock. Manager always remind me I’m a ‘top performer’ with high meets, never exceeds (because those are reserved for cronies)… and then, when I bring up compensation: ‘Thank you for your 30 years of loyal service, but unfortunately your band is maxed out, no further increases possible, and this year’s bonus pool is basically nonexistent, expect something in the range of 0.05 % (if you’re lucky) this is what I called bullsh-t
Once a month to check it off his list. He just tells me I'm still the top performer on our team, but I'm sure I won't get a raise for it.
Consistently every other week for the past 10 years. Always productive, rarely cancelled.
Yeah, I'm probably in the minority here...
Twice a year. Once to give me goals, and another to tell me I almost exceeded them but as a high MM that's not good enough to get a raise or bonus.
My new manager started hyperactivity with by-weekly, now it is once in a quarter or less!
My other managers had no scheduling, just instant meeting links whenever they had some orders or more tasks to assign!
With the last $1 hike to the minimum BOA wage, the manager is now avoiding me as well as some other team members. After demanding that I get a promotion and/or pay raise to justify my B6 wages with 25 plus years at the bank, my 1:1 sessions stopped. Getting $1.25 / hour more than a new hire minimum wage is insulting. The manager keeps on piling more responsibilities to cover staff shortages, but no additional pay. Now, what are the purposes of 1:1? To improve my performance, or to justify their existence for being a people manager? I am better off not having 1:1's as they are a waste of my time. I am better off talking to a disgruntled customer as both of us have something in common.
Used to a couple of years ago, then it stopped THANKFULLY! It's not supposed to be about work. But I'm not comfortable discussing non-business stuff with my manager. Total BS and waste of time, to be honest. So happy it ended.
Every month, mostly talks about others bullsh-t gossips,, typical office politics etc
Every bloody 2 weeks.
Not that we discuss my "performance" or anything relevant to my role or even the Bank.
Just my doofus incompetent B2 Yes-Man "manager" harping on about his prior roles are prior companies in the 1980s to puff himself up.
Stupid loser. I just mute and do other stuff while he blathers away.
How in the world are people like this even here?!?
Very frequently and at random interval. Actively being managed out.
twice a year - mid year/year end rest all hit & miss one in two months if lucky.. hardly they have time
Every two weeks. Rarely cancels. Thankfully always pleasant.
Every other NEVER
Not that I mind. He's 1000 miles away and the less interaction, the better.
B4 reporting to B3.
Once monthly.
Small group pull up twice monthly. Weekly with team.
Once a month and they are usually canceled at the last minute because " Sorry I'm dealing with an escalated issue right now".
Honestly never
Every 7-10 business days
Every other week
Never
