Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Does your org have a hiring/promotion freeze?

Is there a companywide hiring and promotion freeze in the US, or just JVB’s?

If so, how long have you been in your same position?

If it's late Q3 or Q4, it's ALWAYS a hiring freeze at T. Got to save that EOY budget for something other than employees! /s

Our group just had a promotion of one of the box-tickers. In fact, the last 5 promotions/progressions that come to mind have all been box-tickers. No middle-aged + white men have been promoted in I don't know how long.

Here more than 25 years. Believe it or not, I was the last hired in my org. And to the best of my knowledge, no one has ever been promoted either.

My group is hiring people. Individual contributor type positions in various locations across the US.

I have been in my position for about three years. I will be here until I retire. I’m a market based employee that sits in a KNL, not a hub. So there are and will be zero job vacancies here.

No problem laying off here. Regular occurrence like in most orgs I suppose.

No problem filling those vacancies with incompetent H1B. The chairs are sill warm!

Way to go Stink!
