Secure web gateway (SWG) is crucial to security service edge (SSE), but Cisco introduced SWG only recently in 2018. Cisco has made multiple attempts to build a SSE (and SASE) platform, with secure access being their latest effort. However, some components remain poorly integrated.
Integration challenges
Cisco Umbrella SIG lacks native integration across different technology stacks, inevitably leading to performance, security, and resiliency issues. There is also a risk of dependency on Cisco products, making future changes costly.
Usability issues
Cisco Umbrella SIG is not user friendly. Initial deployment hassles and a clunky UX pose significant challenges for security and networking teams.
If I get an email from anyone with an Indian name at Cisco, I just delete it without reading it. So far, no downsides or repercussions

Prabhat Singh's group have had more outages then running services in the past few years. It's embarrassing. He ordered his team to work Saturday nights and Sunday mornings to deploy production changes because if there is an outage than customers won't immediately know. Customers are pi---d.
He turned SBG to rot. It's the worst group in cisco. Everything he did was a failure.
