Are managers notified when you apply for another role internally? Or are they only notified if you are selected for an interview

Also be aware that your compensation will matter. If you’re making less now and want a bigger job, you look better because they can give you sprinkles instead of market for comp. But if the role you’re going for pays less than you’re making now, chances are they won’t pursue you because of it. It’s truly stupid.
It changed around a year or so ago from when you are selected for an interview to when you apply (as the original responder stated).
There is a blurb in the application form that states your manager will be notified once you apply.
They say it's when you get selected for interview but my former manager confirmed she could see my submissions by joking on some of the roles I applied for but didn't get an interview. Make sure you're networking. Most internal roles posted already had a candidate in mind.
