They are ramping up RA for the next few years. They are increasing headcount to support the load and bringing back benefits to attract new technicians.

Naa ! Take each factory headcount needs per week. Say 4000 folks per week per shift.
4000 x 7 known stable factories worldwide = 28K headcount to run them.
128K - 100K deadbeats = 28K hard working innovative MFers without any deadbeat ELTs or MBAs in the monkey wrench of losers.

@br yes, but it reduces recurring expenses which they like. Also, why they like contractors. They can remove and add at the drop of a hat. The money is not locked up.

Layoff is planned in every quarter in the future. Why? Because the salary of the layoff will be used as the profit of the quarter, otherwise, Intel has negative profits.
