If your job can be done from home then it can be replaced by either AI or offshoring. I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be mean but blue collar is all that will be left in the near future.

To the OP, sorry you don’t WFH buddy. Don’t hate on us. We are valuable from the comfort of our homes with our big brains and unmatched skills. And guess what? If VZ doesn’t want us, another company will.
Kindly, STFU
@ac dog, you think you got some special skill set that can't be replaced by a contractor for half the price?
@ab or replaced by an illegal alien
In that case, have you heard of robots, genius?
@OP 100% correct. So get as close to the action as you can and stop this damn stupid WFH cr-p. It is the fastest way to lose your job….
@ab whatever makes you feel better, enjoy unemployment!
you are the worst kind of d-mb. not only do you not know what you don't know, but you can't even concevie of things outside of your personal experience. Arrongantly ignorant of the world around you
@a6 actually I’m not the RTO guy. I could care less if you guys RTO. I’m saying those of us on the front lines don’t NEED you guys sitting at a desk at home OR in the office AT ALL. If AI can’t replace you then an Indian can for half the price and none of the ego you all have for some reason.
you have no idea the kind of work that gets done by most people in the company. if you are outside or in an office you can be contracted out.
@a5 outside work is blue collar
@a1 I was in your shoes. The last in the company that knew what I knew. Started working from home about the time air cards came out. They eventually chopped me. I was still getting calls from co techs three years later. Most I helped, some that rubbed me the wrong way over the years were told to f off.
Best wishes if you go my route, especially if you are over age 55.
Don't parrot the line of billionaires. What happens when most kids start moving to blue collar jobs because that's where the jobs are? Saturation, loss of jobs, lower wages, unemployment,..etc will happen there as well and happen fast. What happens when you are in your 50s and your body has broken down due to the much more physically intensive blue collar work?
With any type of generational reset that happens with jobs, the answer is always more education and not less. We'll need an educated work force to work with AI tools. If the AI bubble bursts or AI solutions start to get shut down due to lack of security, we'll need an educated work force to take back over. Also a lot of jobs are going overseas. Worst case, no matter how unappealing it might sound right now, folks can move abroad just as people abroad came here. However, encouraging future generations to have less education is never the answer.
Kindly work in the office as prescribed 9-5 M-F. Been done for over a century. Includes commuting and child care. No regerts
OP get a life. You're prob the same I e who has been saying this on repeat. No one GAF what you're saying.
If YOUR job can be done by you, then it, too, can be done by anyone, anywhere. So what's your point?! GTFOH
Tell that to the customers that are out of service when there’s a catastrophic fiber cut and AI attempts to coordinate emergency repairs while identifying the extent / location of a damage.
@a1 ok bud. We’ll see about that.
This is the d-mbest comment I’ve ever read. I’ve got news for you, I’m one of the few people in the world with knowledge of the systems I work on and I do it from home. I’m not even worried about the RIFs as I would land on my feet easily. You clearly don’t understand the limitations of AI.
