Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

At&t commercial is what's wrong with America

The At&t Apple commercial with that fat lady smashing into other parents while filming her son is disgusting. It shows how she is entitled over the other parents...even splashing in a mud puddle on them. Rude segment of society.

Glad someone mentioned it's an Apple ad and that all of the top 3 mobile companies just put their brand at the end. However, like the other poster does I mute and commercial or just channel up/down for ~1 minute. As a parent I would never just bull rush through people to film my child's event - that is rude. This has nothing to do with any "racism" people might read into it - it's just flat out inconsiderate. "Get out of MY way..I'm filming my baby". I also find the VZ Einstein commercial annoying and do the same thing - mute or turn off. I really hope/wish that they would know when people do such actions so they can tell if people are enjoying a commercial or not.

‘Healthcare costs go up causing layoffs because you people can’t manage your bodies’. What an absurd, irrational, blatantly ignorant comment. The post is about a friggin commercial, an Apple commercial at that. This forum is supposed to be about ATT layoffs, not off the wall personal beefs about the actors chosen in an ad.

The biggest problem with commercials today, especially telecom commercials, is the creators always think they need to be funny. They always miss the mark, never funny, when will they ever learn? Forget about the comedic routines, try to take the professional approach sometime, the results will be much improved.

...your comment calling her fat is rude and offensive. A lot of America is disgusted to be called ‘fat’. BTW what does this have to do with layoffs?

Normally if I find a commercial/ad offensive, I routinely just turn the channel or mute the ad. I do find it curious that the poster wants the ad removed….because according to her/him, it’s an example of the ruination of the country; and added many others feel the same. Can I just say for the other-others….that’s just cray-cray.

We could cut all the marketing budget and probably not see much of a drop in sales. Any drop would be offset by the savings by a long shot.

The commercials for pharmaceutical dr-gs for every imaginable and unimaginable illness are the worse. Only in the US will you see citizens, including children, bombarded with dr-g ads. And it gets worse every year. If you want to complain about something, look at the multibillion dollar pharmaceutical conglomerates whose ads have taken over the airwaves.
An ad about a phone is the least of the problems today in this country. Grow up dude.

I hate this too.I also hate the one about new and existing customers getting the same deal. Typical of stupid AT&T marketing to put the new on one side and existing on the other. Makes us look like id--ts who can't put new and existing customers get the same deal on the same side of the poster. Its supposed to be funny, but comes across as id--tic.

In my opinion fat is a metaphor to mean set in our ways...You have to stay hungry to be focused to achieve your goals. In 2023 I am done being fat.

You should contact Apple to complain and maybe T. What happened in 2020? Another bad commercial?

Watched it. Wrong. Not offensive but your comment calling her fat is rude and offensive. A lot of America is disgusted to be called ‘fat’. BTW what does this have to do with layoffs? Just looking to get people worked up ….sounds like.

To the post below:

"This post is a classic example of spinning and twisting reality to fit your own narrative. "

That is untrue. I posted this because it is unacceptable behavior especially in post 2020 era. Be better. Do better AT&T . And by the way to the poster below My words matter and if I feel this way, so does much of America. Remove the ad. It is offensive to many people. I understand the nature of what you are attempting to market but you could have done it in a better way.

This post is a classic example of spinning and twisting reality to fit your own narrative. The ad is showcasing the Apple phone's ability to capture action even while moving. It shows a mother at her son's track meet running along the sidelines attempting to film the event while oblivious to her surroundings. I've attended many school events when excited parents have done this exact thing.
How anyone could find this ad offensive and an example 'what's wrong with America' needs to be examined closely for the real reason behind the mischaracterization and false comments.
Watch it for yourself and you'll understand why he posted this calling the characters 'rude segments of society'.
You, poster, is the one who is entitled.

T is so ridiculous! They paid outside production companies to produce Att's terrible commercials, instead of using WB with the most talented production teams in the world. They literally had the BEST in the business at their finger tips, and instead outsourced and paid for their second rate production! Laughable

The commercials are so bad that I always thought that the production & actors were relatives of corporate executives - extending $$$$.$$ to them for not being able to find employment elsewhere.

Don't read so much into this. T hires outside marketing company for these commercials, they run all sorts of focus groups and A/B testing before they produce the final version. The ad in question is really highlighting Apples camera stabilization and nothing about the T network... It's basically just an apple and with T branding..
