I work in an analyst type role and just came out of a meeting with our VP. About 50 or so souls on the call. Someone brave enough to ask her if there were going to be anymore layoffs? Her response sent chat windows and text alerts into overdrive. She said "I wouldn't call them formal layoffs, but in about 6 weeks or so, all additional efficiencies that have been found will be taken".
I've been here about 10 years, and I've never worked in an environment such as this. The stress level is unbearable. You wonder every single day- is this the day? Are they looking at me? Did I say the wrong thing to the wrong person? Literally walk on egg shells. And my particular org has just been awful. My husband keeps telling me to quit as he can't stand to see me cry every day due to the unbearable stress of my boss and her lunatic boss. The VP doesn't even know what she's doing. She came from DSCI with her boss who just got another promotion. And things just keep getting worse. I've always been a high rated employee, but I just wonder how much longer I'll be here. And the same for my friends and colleagues and some of them have been here over 20 years. It's just such a shame. I know it's about making money, but it's also about the people, and ever since this new leader came in to the field organization whic is what we are under, no one cares about anyone. They say they do, but they really don't. Just how much can they squeeze the lemon and move on. I guess we will just hold on until the middle of March now and wait it out. At least we have an answer and a date. Tears again.
