Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Retail Brace For Impact

100’s of stores are being finalized for sale to authorized dealers. Prime Communications to absorb about 1/2 of the stores and the other 1/2 to many miscellaneous dealers throughout the nation. RSC/ASM will be put into circles for COR jobs but not many. Dealers are supposedly to offer employment for existing store staff but at much lower and nonunion hourly wages. Calls going out 2/7

Nary a word. When I asked my manager, she told me that if she told me she would have to ki-l me! Just goes to show how tight lipped they are.

Recently ARSM’s have been moved to overseeing AR stores, only one ARSM oversees ALL COR stores in my market. Makes sense now as to why upper management made this move.

“ Won’t be in the orange contract states. There is a job guarantee clause. So they will either be moved to stores remaining open. Or given WFH positions.”

Good luck with that short term strategy….only good until end of agreement.

Why would anyone pay for AT&T mobility service when you can hop on an AT&T or Verizon MVNO ( ie : Spectrum Mobile ) and pay anywhere between $15-$40 month all in ? This is exactly what erodes the AT&T Mobility premium rate plans. T thinks consumers will never switch…..nice strategy….

T has 200,000 buildings, stores, warehouses, tranships, and remote facilities valued at $327 billion (not including depreciation). They will be no end to reducing the footprint.

Sounds like a legal loophole to deunionizing by force.

Sadly, yes I agree with the business model. It makes sense, your paying rent or leases on these buildings, cost of insurance and to top it off, sales people who don't really sell. I came from cor and I worked my way into management and there are few people who actually know how to sell and really maximize sales. Most of the sales people know it's hard to get fired for sales numbers. And yes the level of service from cor to ar used to be able to tell the difference. Now, I recently walked into a cor store, and they are sitting around, not caring, the person didn't even bother to sell me any other products and services and I was in there for a few accessories. Once they knew I was an employee then they changed the way they acted but other then that, it's not the same like it used to be.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, especially to those working in COR stores. This has been the trend for 5 years. It is the road map for all direct selling resources at T , including business. Indirect, SP resources cost T 30% of those direct resources. And Yes, they have figured the losses from customer service erosion in the math. Direct customer facing resources are a quickly melting ice cube.

How can the BOD justify this? Were they given "hush" money?

So how do we get a leak of that list?

It’s confirmed. Network teams are being notified to remove any In-Building enhancement systems from a list of those COR locations closing. All assets being pulled out and returned to CSSL.

Stores are empty. People are buying online, moving a SIM card, going through a few prompts and activating at home. Unless there are problems with activation what is their purpose?

Kinda crazy that this is allowed...i don't see how this is any different than unionizing a store by force.
