For management I think any day of the week is a good day for them to layoff. As far as “bargained for” employees go, HR has a very specific time line . HR puts out a request from all departments asking a forecast of surplus. HR gobbles it up and then presents it to the union business reps. The company (HR) and the union meet 3 times prior to each fiscal quarter and at the third time they meet is when the “union heads/ business reps” have negotiated with HR on any possible surplus. (Remember HR has timelines for this Shiite I.e sipp payments to be calculated etc etc) at the mark of the quarter (second quarter being march 15th 2023) first quarter was 12-15-2023 - I know sounds weird , but by the date of the quarter if bargained for employees didn’t get word via email or paper then it’s a NO for layoff. Rumors are like ar-e holes. Everyone’s got one. If bargained for employees do not get notified by the quarter deadline then it’s a no go. Managers is a different story.

According to HR exec Miso Hawney,

Yes, that's about the extent of it! You are very ho--y for this rumor to become a reality and it's not gonna happen! You and Miso is all you've got! Keep reading your Hu----r in you parent's basement!

According to HR exec Miso Hawney, prior to layoffs the company plans to extend an enhanced offer of 5 years to age, 5 years to service and $5k per year of service to bargained for employees. It appears that AT&T is going to do what is necessary to eliminate the older, highly paid employees.
