Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Manager is lowering my insights ratings since the company is not doing well

My insights ratings was reduced drastically for Q4’22. The reason I was told was because the company is not doing well the employees are also not doing well, so they cannot be graded high on insights

Is this true for other groups too ? What should I do?

So can you put an HR case for false creation of paper trail just to justify potential termination?

You need to get out of there - they are preparing a paper trail to justify laying you off.

There is no actual rating in insights calm down. Managers can pick whatever they want from drop down. It’s not a bell curve.

Paper trail so you paycut looks justified. Honestly why are people still working for this shitshow of a company, unless they have no other option

Given that there are no raises for 2023, there's no incentive for management to lower your Insights rating because it won't lower the amount of your raise. That makes this post a bit fishy.

Managers were told by HR to lower ratings for anyone they want to terminate this week to avoid certain legal issues

Insights ratings?

My manager has no clue what I am doing all day. Insights ratings are a waste of time, as well as this OKR nonsense. Actually staying here is a waste of time.

My rating was lowered as well. It feels like we are getting lined up for the sl------r house. Time to leave while we still have some breath left?

That doesn't make any sense at all, unless they're confusing meeting the guidance from late last year, where a certain percentage of a team's performance is supposed to be above or below 100% (I forget the numbers exactly).

There's no reason it should be rated on anything other than your personal performance for the quarter. Insights are used to make the case for promotions, and those aren't going to happen anytime soon anyway. There's no money tied to Insights like there is the OKR component of the APB. If it's not a convo you can have with you manager, I'd figure out who your Business HR Partner is and have a quick chat about it with them. It's possible that your manager has misinterpreted the guidance, and your Insights shouldn't suffer for that.

Another example of leadership blaming employees instead of themselves for their poor decisions.

Just looked at mine and it's set as role modelling etc.

They can hardly knock you back to underperforming or try hold you personally responsible for the fault of poor leadership decisions coupled with macro economic head winds.

Yeah they will doubtfully have money in our pay review but that's no reason to knock down your performance. I'd challenge that as any future hiring manager (internally) can request to view your insights..

Same here. This is the sign that we will be laid off.
