Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Is every stores cpu terrible?

I work the second shift. 12:30-9. When we get there we will be on 1 o'clock orders and the managers act like it's crazy we get behind when there is only 2 of us. They want the orders out in under 5 minutes, which would take both of us dispensing, but then they wont send help. They wait til we are hours behind then act surprised. A lot of stuff isnt out or located so we are also expected to walk the steel to try and find it and spot while they drop it. Is this everyone's experience?

Wow. You're mad that they wont help? At my club we also aren't allowed to pull orders for the next day. If we have time after we are finished they have us zone. We dont take our lunches til late and when the 2 of us get back we have to cancel orders and put it all up and then clean the AM shift mess they leave behind for us every day.

Our management wont let us pull orders for the next day. We want to. Why would you be mad at the PM shift when they want to pull orders for the next day but managment wont let them?

If the night shift would start the 7am orders for the next day then when they come in at 12 they won’t be pulling orders in the 1pm slot. No one realizes that all the big heavy business orders are in the 7 and 8 am time slot and takes up a lot of our time. I work cpu AM shift and let me tell you if the night shift helps us out we help them out but if they decide to do nothing guess what they can come pull their orders at 12. It goes both ways

We are understaffed. At least on the 2nd shift. The whole club talks about how first shift is a problem. They are full of drama stop and talk throughout the day. One of them wont stage the orders and that makes it hard to find them when dispensing. We also have to repull orders cause they are scanned and staged but not there. The whole club talks about how they are a problem. We were already behind when we got there today. We dont get to pull orders for the next day. They have us help merchandisers. We had a manager tell us the club manager said we cant pull orders for the next day. That it wasnt our problem. If we could pull orders for the next day and 1st shift didnt waste time, we would be much better off.

I disagree with the comment about 1st shift needing to be at 2 o'clock for 2nd shift. It would work if the 2nd shift would set 1st shift up better. Sometimes 2nd will only do a few(as in 5 or 6) of the next days orders. And they are usually the 3 o'clock 1, 2 and 3 count orders. If they, the 2nd shift, can prop against a cart in cpu and watch their phones, then they can pull. I was even told they had down time on 2nd by a new associate in count. I said there is no down time. So this is what we on 1st have to contend with. And yes, the lead knows all this, she encourages it.

We have both cpu and sfc. We have 2 mid shifts come in one goes to sfc and the other to cpu. One of us is expected to be forklift certified so we can drop our own stuff.

Your CPU is either understaffed or they have front loaded in the AM. There is enough head count given for this workgroup. That all it is. Are you a SFC club as well? We are understaffed in the evening as well, avg of 3 for that shift per night, but they still get it done and plus have 200 units picked for SFC for the next day. Seems like your AM shift needs to set u all up better. AM shift should have picked up to 2pm.
