Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Layoffs by department or org instead of mass layoffs.

My humble opinion, T will do layoffs by group, department or org rather than a 1 time mass good bye, spread out over time 1- because HR can’t handle couple thousands employees needing answers at ones and 2- T is not fan for bad PR, at the price the T share is worth hitting the news like that can bring the price down a dollar or two. $1 out of 19 will Hit different than 1/30.
Anyway like many people said this been trend for a while and not going away soon.
By the way it also help paying less in bonuses, you’re so happy to still have a job that you don’t mind peanuts as bonuses, meanwhile big dogs take millions in bonuses while saying we are not doing good. This world is amazing.

@uqg+1kPrrBAK Don't forget the CWA as the most useless and worthless group. But they basically are part of HR.

AFAIK, T always does layoffs by the workgroup. The business case has to go through HR & Legal.
One of the other threads/posts mentioned some of the paperwork. Don't recall the name nor the exact contents. What I do recall is the type of information it included. This was some 15 years ago
Title, age, then believe it included service time. There could have been other specifics, just can't remember that far back.
That sheet of information, was just for my workgroup/business case. Believe it went as high as AVP, so maybe 100 people or so in the list.

Wow, being articulate is clearly not your jam.

Anyway...>>>> "...T is not fan for bad PR"

It's literally the only PR we are familiar with. Also, Wall Street likes layoffs. It's more apt to drive the price up than down.

HR can’t and won’t handle any work, unless it involves sticking it to the employees. Laziest and most worthless group in the company by far.

Selections for layoffs are getting easy. 10% haircut for all business units at VP level. The ole GE model.
