Protected pto

What am I missing? Put a request in for PROTECTED pto for 2 days next week and I see my manager has rejected it. I'm positive it is at the club managers direction. Protected pto is being treated the same as regular pto at my club.

PPTO isn’t to be used in advance. Same day or within that week after.

If PPTO is submitted before missing the day it is treated like PTO and can be denied.
Using PPTO after missing a day can be submitted and automatically approved.

PPTO is only automatically approved if its used after the fact. Not beforehand

And click "sick" as the reason otherwise, it's subject to being rejected.

When using ppto it’s best to call off and not give notice so it’s automatically approved.

Tried to be nice and give them a heads up so they could fill the shift. What bugs me is that the manager didn't give a reason to reject the request, i wouldn't have known about it if i hadn't checked my pto hours. Regardless protected pto is PROTECTED pto.

Just call off and then put your ppto in that's how it suppose to be used. The system will automatically take your point away. You have 7 days to put in after you call off
