Got up early, went for a walk. Had a nice coffee and caught up on the news. About 11 am headed over to Barnes and Noble, had a coffee and skimmed through some books. Now am at the garage having my car serviced. Have not worried about a stupid meeting, or whether the boss is looking for me, or feeling guilty for going out to lunch. I will milk this sun pay for its every last dollar. This is a gift!!!

Exactly the same for me, the 401k changes were the last straw. Giving notice March 1.

Go out to lunch? I probably went out to lunch 10 times in the 11 years I worked at BNYM. Even though I blocked my calendar for a lunch break- there is not a soul that uses the feature look to see if the time is scheduled. I ate on a call every single day.
Enjoy the paid time off and do something you enjoy. I have yet to know of anyone who got RIF'd and didn't find a better job or misses BNY. It is truly eye-opening how bad a company BNY is. You will have much better benefits, work-life balance and actually work with happy people.
You need to find another job. Once you do you’ll really be in heaven and realize how much of a he-l BNY is.
