Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Meeting Update

Anyone know what the ACTUAL changes are that will be happening this year? Our Club Manager is out on leave and no mention of us having a meeting.

"Wow....common sense prevails after nearly 4 years without a night crew!! They realize wasting all the payroll shooting up pallets from 8-12:30 wasn't too bright. Forklifts are much more effective without spotters!!"

  • Don't worry...they'll most certainly find a way to misdirect what sounds like an abbreviated night crew for higher volume clubs only, and turn it into a joke. They can't help themselves.

"Maybe if Sams emulated Costco and opened at 10am it may have worked."

  • Even before they rolled out the Block Scheduling disaster, the concensus among everyone I talked to was that the only possible way it might work would be to open at 10am every day. But even then, Costco brings in an army of people at 3am to get it all done while at the same time controlling their freight volume to be predominantly door-to-floor. You'll never see this godforsaken company do that.

"Also cudos to the brilliant minds that thought to install that new red arch light behind the forklift that will surely decrease accidents."

  • Maybe if they hadn't painted themselves into such a corner by creating a separate forklift merchandiser position and just added a nominal bump for those who had legitimately earned their lift license, they wouldn't have had to deal with so many associates refusing to use a forklift in the first place. And by legitimately, I mean actual training like in the old days. Not going out back two or three times and doing figure 8s around a couple stacks of pallets for 15 minutes a pop. That's crazy. They created this accident debacle and now guys like me have to withstand this, running-half-speed-with-a-silly-red-light-show, bullsh-t. We'd also still be able to double stack the top steel.

"Are the front end leads floor leads tbc leads and personal shopper lead going to get a big bump up? It’s crazy that fresh leads make 3-5 dollars more than the rest of them. And most do more than the fresh leads."

It isn't like that in our club. Our TBC & personal shopper lead never work a full week. When they are there, they're usually sitting on their @$$ somewhere. Front end spend most of their time playing on their phones. They should all be paying Sam's back.
Meanwhile, our fresh & merch leads work their tails off.

Night crew going away unless you are $150 million club then you are getting a dedicated 3rd shift and tons of forklift drivers to unload and rack freight. They feed us so much b.s.

Brainwashing to knock out the dedicated long term employees, have you noticed the managers are horable to the ones that care about their job?
