Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Being a long term associate here

It is very obvious that they do not prefer long term associates here, no matter how much they are more committed to work or better employees than newbies. I'm planning to leave soon for other reasons, but also because I don't want to get myself in a situation where I'm stuck and unwanted here.
The manager's attitude towards my older colleagues who have spent many years here is very bad.

I wonder if anywhere else in the industry in general the attitude towards long-term employees is more humiliating than it is here?

No where else is it like Walmart or Sam's. Leave and never look back. Theuy do not want you there long term unless you are their type or their buddy!

Long term associates cost the company too much. Plain and simple. They want you gone. Read this and you will understand. Sam's uses the same model. Evident by doing away with door greeters/exiters, desk associates, and electronic associates, among others.

Middle management is the worst. God complex folks who were promoted just because they can bully their charges. Market managers and Regional Managers check their soul at the altar of Sam's Club and the pursuit of the almighty dollar. Their souls will rot in he-l.

Newer associates walking around on their phones CONSTANTLY. Feeling the need to ALWAYS have AirPods in their ears. Constantly late for their shifts or being completely absent on the reg. Complaining about having to do ANYTHING beyond their primary position. Exact opposite of team players. 80% of them don’t last more than 6 months.

Been at sams almost 5 years and have observed that Many of the LTA’s are the most negative, lazy and selfish associates in the club🤷‍♂️

LTA’s are generally the least productive, most negative associates..bad attitudes toward any change regardless of its benefit to the business…

We had a GM that walked in the door telling people he hated long term associates. His AES score was 26% and he was shuffled out the door.

The next two GMs we had appreciated but as usual expected more from long term associates. Their scores on AES went up to around 75-85%. They stuck around for several years each and left on positions that were considered a step up.

Moral of the story is treat your long term associates with respect and you will go a long way in having a successful club.

Unfortunately home office seems to think it’s just fine to cap the pay or raise new hire pay to equal of what 20 year associates are making without boosting their pay.

When hired, they want you to stay long term. Until you do.

You are wanted. That's why the schedule comes out 3 weeks ahead of time.
Just sit back and watch them leave. How many associates are still there since you were hired?
