Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Almost 100 Grads recruited 3-4 months ago

Still have no jobs and are sat on the bench. I recently had one that came to shadow me and didn’t know jack sh-t.

Literally could have found someone from the street and be none the wiser as to how to perform the role.

I have a grad who is working with me and we can’t even understand the English he speaks and for almost 1 month has done literally fu-k all, maybe 3 hours work.

This company is turning into a farce with them firing experienced staff in favour of grads and cheaper apprentices.

"closed of to the younglings". I studied Computer Science for four years and could do basic sys admin, coding and testing before starting a job. This isn't the case with the "younglings". Simple fact is ArseSalve was called out on attrition several analyst calls back and now just needs some numbers to say DXC is attracting talent because his playbook is working, his proven team are delivering and everything is great despite quarter on quarter declines in every meaningful metric. The only thing on the increase is the self-deluding BS that Mikey II pushes out and the BS that the marketing and HR team spin.

@xhz+1kEEE6Ax It’s not about being closed off

It’s about a McShouty troll thinking it’s a good idea to replace SME’s with fresh grads, fooling us into training them only to be then replaced by them.

It’s about starting grads on high salaries and then us SME’s look at them and think what has 15 years of loyalty got us? 3-5k more! Is 15 years of knowledge only worth 3-5k?

This cesspool of sh-t is run by mo--ns with absolutely no idea how to run the company and I’ll begin with HR. How the $ imbalance is allowed in this company beggars belief.

They are all from India. You will accept them on your account, or they will replace your L4s with L1 new hires.

Look, new hires have a place, and we need fresh talent. Don't drop them into L4 roles.

That is the spirit .. be closed off to younglings starting out in the world .

Fvck 'em. They have to learn on their own like everyone else. You don't like it? Bite me.

As a former grad who never had the problem of not having any work to do, I do feel for all involved. It's frustrating for those hired to not have anything to do (there's only so much training, stretch assignments and networking you can do), and I can empathise with those, like yourself, who are limited in what to teach them.
