Why does Oracle keep stacking layers of executives who pull in oversized paychecks while acting like the company would collapse if they skipped a meeting?

What is HR doing? they never have done a thing for me until I got cut. I think these people might not be the actual HR but contractors as they are very helpful.
i always wondered about this too, why do we need a director and a senior director and
a VP reporting into a VP ect. Unless some of the directors do things like run SSC or whatever the he-l it was called.

@b9 there are plenty of VPs and up that manage no-one....check Aria or Connections if you have access
Depends on your group and mgmt. ours slashed several VPs, Sr Directors and a layer in the middle. Some teams bloat for sure but I am glad my team made it fair across the board.
Its called Pyramid scheme like in network marketing.

There are 9 VP and 4 GVP's managing less than 10 -15 folks. 15 Directors and Sr.Directors managing less than 10 folks.
