@at wow! You got lot of love (or not) for Indians. Maybe consider this, Jesus looked more like Indians than white folks.
Just sayin

@b3 False. Your supervisor lied to you.
Your supervisor had access to how much COP pays to the companies that manage the contractors. What the contractors actually get paid is not visible to your supervisor.

@b4 which further support why COP is doing what they're doing.

@b3 contractors generally make the same, or even a little higher, base pay than what a direct employee makes for the same work. The difference is they don't get vcip, benefits, 401k, savings plan, area premiums etc. That's where company's save money. Plus if you need to cut one in the future, no PIP or other legal garbage.

@at I've heard these contractors actually make 6 figures from a coworker who used to be a supervisor making more than a lot of people, work here for a few years then live like kings back home... They had access to salaries.

@a8 can you elaborate further on this "contracted service providers"?

Basically hiring Indians that work in hives while paying half while they lie to get the position.

I've heard numerous stories of these Indians lying heavily on their resume, getting the job, and then fast forward a few months, supervisors realize they've been scammed and fire them... And rinse and repeat.

Trump needs to get rid of those bulls**t h1-b visas, nothing but excuses to pay less for more mediocre work.

I can't wait till these companies starting going downhill because of it. I guarantee you if you got rid of h1-b, Americans quality of life would drastically increase.

Sorry for the rant, but this is what we're all seeing, not only at COP, but everywhere, and everyone's afraid to speak publicly to their bosses about it.

I mean look at our board and ELT, once you got one Indian in there, they just start infecting the rest and now you got Indians everywhere. Sick joke. Call me racist or whatever, but it's facts

too many cuts. don't sign your severance offer. take it to a lawyer or paralegal.

Roughly 50 immediate severances today in corporate IT. However the function is going to be heavy on transition assignments with the move to contracted service providers over the next year: the total cuts are going to be significantly higher than the company wide 20-25% mark.
