Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Manager

For 11 years I had the kindest manager, a year ago that changed and they split up our team, because he was promoted. Rightfully so.. My Manager now is so micromanaging I am suffocating. In every email and slack message she asks you to reconfirm everything you supply her. Triple the work on each task. She has been with the O for 28 years, and started as an admin. Kudos to her for rising through the ranks. Not well liked or respected locally, by default they promoted her.. . To live a more healthier life I am looking for a new job. Will that solve all my problems, not really. However I will most likely be spending less time in the bathroom from the stress. Peace and love all.

My first manager....his tech exp stopped at excel sheets. He stole a POC I did....and was overall a pathetic man. still there
My second manager....he stole my customer ppts...used most of what I did as his own. still there. Meant well, but yes man, Indian, but like super weird about workign with you.
Third manager, woman who started a new dept....she knew nothing about. tech skills limited to...well...she knew nothing. still there.
Fourth manager, brought in by acquisition from Midwest. Total yes man who dumped on most anyone who challenged. one-product man who had zero technical skills. He moved up cause he's doing a job no one wants and has wife and kids. still there.
Fifth manager. Total yes man. Yuge. Zero technical skills. Promoted me and then backdoored me when he told me there was no $$$ increase. A pathetic human being. Still there

Oracle Mgmt are the worst in the world.

You won’t win this. She’s aware you have been around and knows the game and just want you out of her team. You might be a threat to her in her mind. Look for something else.

I’m telling you this as a career consultant whose entire career was spent in HR.

If it were me I would be documenting all her requests and communications. If it borders on harassment, share it anonymously. So many useless mgmt in oracle. I legit still to this day how people wake up, know they’re useless and only goal is to make people’s lives more difficult. The first guy I worked for at oracle is still there. I wouldn’t hire him to shine my shoes or mail a letter. And he stole peoples work and never gave them credit. Total fraud and bad human being.

@a6 everyone on her team quit a few years ago, so now we have 4 kids who do not know any better, and by kids I mean they are in mid 20s. Wonderful humans and hard workers... the only thing they are confused about is why no raises.

@mv Just last night she asked for confirmation in 2 emails and a slack that I followed her direction. She is on the west coast, so I ignored her.. What she really need to do is get a grip, and go for a nice walk.. Micromanaging is uncalled for.. Her collection of Oracle stuff over the last 28 years is d-mb. It would take her days to pack her office.

My Lord. An admin that started their 28 years ago? She was probably using punch cards and floppies. She is a perfect soldier for oracle. Lacking intelligence, empathy, logic, she is perfect. She prob has folders on people. I would love to see some of my old oracle mgmt out locally. I would laugh in their disgusting faces.

@fr yeah..I had one that was exactly the same...she was like my wife when it comes to nagging and used to dump truckloads of work on me ...so double stress at home and work....luckily I got laid off ..being unemployed is better than working for her.

She is what is known as a Yes Manager. It’s never on them to deliver so she won’t care the he-l you go through. Best way to trip up a yes manager especially when you have an out is to say yes to everything then dump the po-p on them. Smile as you send your resignation email.

I feel your pain. Seen too much of managers failing upwards because they have honed the fine art of su-king up while showing no inkling of actually being a good manager.

What does your other team members say about it. Ayway you can report to her manager with evidence or talk with your former manager about this issue.
