Yes. Back in 2019, there were cuts on December 23rd to adjust for major accounts that weren’t renewing their contracts on January 1st.

Yes of course this happens, there is no actual time of the year that the corporation takes a moment to consider the consequences of their actions, it is just a constant churn. People are not an asset, they are an expense and when they see the shiny object in the store window they need capital. Humans are rate + about 40% so they look at rate and cost for maintenance. Don't take it personally, go work for a small company if you want someone who cares about you, this is not going to change.

In the past there were cuts of 29-31 level between Thanksgiving and NYE. Mostly to get ahead of RSUs vesting. Swim with the sharks and you get eaten, as they say.

It can happen of course, but you're more likely to see it this week.
Very little gets done between Thanksgiving and Christmas. People are on vacation, the accounting folks are trying to wrap up the year. Plus there's the "optics" of canning people around the holidays. It doesn't look good to announce layoffs in the "season of giving". So they wait until January.
Yes at clinics/Health and in India. Less common in corporate unless you work primarily on a contract we lose 12/31. But if you are you would know.
