Now I’m anxious, depressed, and numb. Every single day I get more work with a "do this or else" attached to it. I'm starting not to care anymore. What are they going to do, fire me? By now, that seems like a better option than continuing to work here.

15 years of my life wasted here join the party.
@e3
You get 50% of your wireless service 😂 that's all!
OP, are you out of your mind?
@OP wait , complaining about work while top performers are laid off due to location?
I too hate my employer telling me what to do. Can't I just do what I want when I want?
They took me off interviewing duty after I started asking "why do you want to work here?" Of course there's nothing innately wrong with the question except for people who work here that knew the real intent.
And yes some places inside are still hiring but usually only to replace people who left or to get cheaper replacements for those they want to get rid of
Yep. Same feelings as a junior tech in several different crews and roles over the years.
Climbed the ladder, five different titles, two layoffs and a role in management.
AT&T did bolster the technical side of my resume, but never offered any job security. I was happy and proud to be an AT&T employee, though. My first "real job" that paid-well. That's why I still check into these boards and generally curious about the direction of the company.
I enjoyed the work once I got out of the wire-tech world and my colleagues, 2nd and 3rd level managers, as well.
When they threatened to fire me three times over the Covid jab, a personal medical decision that was highly politicized, they ultimately lost my loyalty.
I'm now in a different company, using my skills and knowledge, but with better pay, better benefits and job security.
Best of luck out there. There are greener pastures and some other companies treat their employees with respect and care. Stay strong.
You cry and moan day after day
And yet you stay
And yet you stay
“What benefits do retirees get with the 75 rule?”
This is a legacy program that is no longer relevant. Other than being able to select a cheap retirement gift made in China, there is no benefit.
Stepped in it, not up. Squish squish.
What benefits do retirees get with the 75 rule? Can someone explain in details about the 75 rule?
It was fine 14 years ago when I came here. Since then, well, let’s just say for the past 11 years, I’ve seen it go lower and lower year after year. Used to be a great place to work, now, it’s just terrible.
ANY at&t (Anonymous) company message board would have warned you with Ample, unequivocal and deliberate emphasis, that the ‘new’ at&t ( ex-SBC ) is an incessant raging Dumpster Fire and Nightmarish at best —to work for in any Capacity. I’m sorry that you did not perform your due diligence before making the regrettable mistake of taking a job there. At this point the company has a clear unmistakable public reputation for being a dead-end SHIITTTHOLE Employer. The Spirit airlines equivalent of Telecom. 📞
Any job that comes with location uncertainty is cr-p. 💩 They have tens of locations in each city but not a single location you can work in peace because some a--hole in ATL has decided his state is the greatest.
Know the feeling 22 years left with 75 rule ATT will su-k the life out of you !!!
Same here. Growing up, AT&T felt like the fanciest and best cell provider. Their original partnership with Apple made that feel especially true.
Now it feels like an outdated scam company full of boomer ideologies and no real care for customers or employees.
