Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells Fargo is becoming known as a layoff machine

Not just within the company but outside as well. I guess word spreads fast when you're having cuts every two weeks. No wonder we can’t get any good candidates anymore. Good for them, su-ks for us.

It's been a layoff machine for 6 straight years now, with no sign of slowing down. The only reason to accept a job with Wells Fargo is if you're desparate for income with no reasonable alternative.

Becoming known?? It's been going on for years and touted in every earnings call as signs of progress. Wake up.

In STL, Edward Jones has been getting a lot of publicity on layoffs and nothing on WFA or WF. Even funnier is that the amount of people EJ has laid off is miniscule compared to WF. I would bet, I could ask a 100 people and maybe 1 might know of lay offs outside of the company.

@a5 The poster is referring to it becoming known that Wells Fargo has chainsaw management. It makes it an undesirable place for candidates. Only those who need a jobs will apply for and take an offer from Wells Fargo.

There are several corporations like this in my hometown that everyone knows to avoid unless you are desperate for work. Those who take jobs there already have one leg out the door to jump for another job. Wells Fargo is now on that list. People who network talk.
