@hp thats a far reach. The managers are given a script to follow and do not disclose actual reasons. There is an initiative to reduce expenses and that was equivalent to a volume of headcount. The initiative has been displacing people monthly for the last 12 months and will continue through mid year 2026 until the company is at 2/3 the headcount it was 2 years ago. In largemouth often it has ZERO to do with performance. Wells overpaid people to get them in the door during covid a.k.a the great resignation so now its time to trim all the excess so Charlie and shareholders along with terrible middle management continue to get paid. Its ALL a numbers game
If you have to ask anlayoff board instead of manager who told you, i thinkbthat answers your question!
There really is no such thing as a lay off, they aren't giving us a pink slip and having us return in 3 months. They are letting people go. Some with, and some without a package. If you got a package it was a displacement if no package you were fired. Either can and do happen on any day. Its possible that one of the required people that need to be available to push certain buttons behind the scenes in your group were not available on Tuesday so they just waited. If you got a non working 60 day notice consider it a gift of a few extra days
I can't get laid off to save my life.
No. I heard someone else was let go Friday so not a fluke. The person was a very well perceived person. Not for cause. I think they can’t get all done on Tuesdays so Fridays will work. There are more to come before the year is out.
You weren't laid off you were terminated for cause.
It is possible it was a last minute decision. They had to get this phase done before Monday so they squeezed you in. It tells you that its a financial decision to meet their balance sheet goal.
I think you were fired.
Everyone will go. Matter of time.
