It was just leaked that to handle the influx of people to Strathcona post Transformation they will begin charging for parking at site.

I had the experience of working in a WE3 environment for a while and have to agree it is awful. Not only the desks are not clean and the keyboards often sticky, but I can only imagine the quality of the facilities they will build on the cheap knowing that most people who chose to move did that basically for lack of options to stay in Calgary. The fact that the company is not even trying to “sell” the new working space to employees says a lot. Career wise, moving to Edmonton sounds like a dead end when industry remains for the most part in Calgary. Feel sorry for those who consider continuing with a new IOL that so openly undervalues the expertise of its employees and keeps moving jobs overseas in the interest of lowering OPEX
Ask anyone in quarry park we3 environment. Looking for desk in the morning ,cleaning up coffee stain from previous tenants or some unknown body fluid from you beloved coworkers. Then adjust desk and chair height, whilr findings some rando hairs stuck on the head rest.
What a productive way to start your day, fostering winning behaviours!!!
It’s designed in a way for future lower employees headcount. This tell you that they will keep on reducing the headcount
@ek I agree. Why would I uproot my family for an “A” probability of not having a career in this company even after this transformation.
The parking thing is a relatively minor irritant, the office setup sounds like it's gonna be awful, but it just reinforces that the future career prospects at Imperial are looking pretty bad. For anyone with options, I don't see a reason to stay.
Unless you truly have no options why would you move to a place like that? I am sure most of us can do better, particularly since with the exception of Imperial in 2028 career prospects are in Calgary if one wants to pursue a future in Oil & Gas
Just shows how little thought was given to this stupid idea. John just nodding and saying “yes sir, yes sir” without using one brain cell.
@ad Works for me, as long as I get cash flow in to cover my cash flow out.
Call centre building style aligns with Bangalore culture vibe. Gonna fly 🇮🇳 flag next to imperial pole.
Also don’t forget that the retro fit of the existing building at site will look like a call centre with everyone crammed in there.
I have heard this rumour too.
And those who will move there will have to work in those wework type offices where you dont have a designated desk but have to book one ahead of time...secondly if you've ever been there you'll know that only first half of employee parking have plugs for winter and the contractor parking is unpaved...good luck to those who are actually willing to move there
