How much got laid off in Canada?

@bq I am so sorry for those where were impacted. For those of us whose turn is next week, are you able to give any insight into what what they might be making decisions based on? Age, etc?
Today is the field and what is sad is theres going to backfill with contingent - I don’t understand why make offers while there are layoffs of good people, I’m waiting my fate as well as others. It feels like it’s who you know and if a line manager likes you not the work you do.

This all su-ks because the oil industry is not doing all that bad now. The greedy people at the top know they fu---d up by expanding too rapidly and although they may admit it will not suffer.

I don’t work there but a lot of people I know do and a number have been let go today. I’m in the same industry and have been through this before. Remember to reach out to your friends and network to support if you need it or want it, there are lots of people who can support you. Hope everyone involved is ok
