Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Move on

I was unhappy at T for years. No bonuses, low raises, and shrinking benefits were just some of my problems. It took me a while to gather courage but a year ago I moved on to a better company. I'm now receiving cost of living pay increases and I get a bonus based on performance. I sometimes revisit this forum and it breaks my heart to see how many are still stuck at T even though they don't have to be. If you're unhappy, leave. You have options.

"No bonuses" really? Before you Copy Paste this stuff at least make sure it makes sense for the company.

Good post until it got preachy. People who stay have their reasons. It does not invalidate their complaints.

@ixv Not my post but I worked in a different state from my boss. He allocated most of my raise and all my bonus to his team in the same office. Those that gave him boss day's gifts and lunches.

No bonuses? What work did you do? As a non union worker in a management job with no direct reports (which is generally everyone that is non union) I cannot remember in recent years not getting a bonus. I am interested to understand why you never received one.

As a craft employee , I’m pretty happy here. I feel pay and benefits are pretty damn good. Pays the bills and then some. I’m grateful. The job is what you make of it. I don’t let the job stress me out. I show up , do what I’m paid to do , and go home to enjoy life. I come from the military where they can make you work an 80 hour week and there’s no OT. My point is that it’s all relative and a matter of perspective. Life is too short to be unhappy. Either find happiness where you currently are , or strive to find it elsewhere. However , it’s much easier to be miserable and you can make anything feel like a miserable experience.

Here's the thing, you should move on. Your assumption that ATT employees are miserable and unhappy is flat out wrong.
You keep coming here complaining and it's just not healthy.
Happy holidays. Seriously.

I'm posting because I liked the people I worked with. That's about the only thing I liked about T.
