Put this question to test, if you bought a company, would you want to pay out severance for the individuls whose participation in the day to day activites are no longer needed?
No! The Q will do it. The Q HR is excellent at it!..Then the Q HR will be gone. The severance cost paid by Qorvo is an expense that generates a valuable tax deduction. This tax benefit is effectively transferred to Skyworks, allowing the combined company to use it to lower its future tax payments, even though the immediate cash was spent by Qorvo before the deal closed. How much is anyones guess. That benefit is posted now, but that could change. Look at Section 382 of the Internal Revenue Code. You can esitmate how much NOL the defunct dysfunctional Q will be allowed to contribute to Skyworks post merger
