I’d bet my paycheck on it.

Cuts in Houston/US will move forward with the idea of attrition helping meeting the number. ELT is still looking for about a 15-20% reduction in US, with those positions moving to other tech centers.
There will be smaller cuts here and there across all businesses. But, there will also be some realignment as well. Many were placed into positions that don't correlate with their skills or experience, so expect lateral moves next year as well.
Overall, the reduction isn't done, but now it might be the "death from a thousand cuts".
@14w We are moving quickly at removing costs. Company is desperate to chop even more. That is my group’s sole directive and to get it done quickly. They have plans in the works years before they tell you
Chevron is incapable of moving that quickly. Maybe it’ll be announced before year end but there’s no way it’s done by then.
Definitely in next 3-6 months. Especially IT. But it will be in smaller pockets as to not trip WARN notices like the sc-m they are.
You'd lose your paycheck
Huh? Before years end? What are you talking about?
@mz that's so long away. Plenty of time to prepare and find another job
Heard it through the grapevine that AS has already overstaffed Bengaluru office - currently at 1300, way above the 600 target for end of 2026, and we aren't even done with 2025; huge bonus $$ going his way! But let that sink in! Word is, next round is coming in 2027, this time directly tied to ENGINE hiring numbers.
If true continues to demonstrate the poor leadership and bad business model. The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over to achieve a different results. Case in point, ELT and next level down are still in place since 2021.
Change the people or change the people
The company is still looking for ways to do drastic cost cutting. You can bet another round will be discussed if it hasn’t already. Huge cost pressures.
Making people work in that Houston office is the next round.
ELT can’t decide what to put on the lunch menu for the board meeting in two months, much less carry out another round of layoffs.
Oh 10000%. And in Q1 or Q2 before the California folks have to move to Houston, once ENGINE and other Low cost geographies are setup. I’d recommend folks start looking for work now before then just to be safe… you don’t wanna be stuck in that. Godspeed.
Please be true!!!
There’s already been a silent “round 3” in some functions and BUs, such as ABU.
(No, I’m not calling it “Australia” without the BU, as management seem to want, because that would make BK “President of Australia”)
