Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Use the rest of the year to look for a new job

Now that we know there'll be no more layoffs this year, use this small window of calm wisely. Take advantage of the time when you're not stressed or uncertain to search for something better, because everyone knows this isn't really over. The workforce will keep shrinking, and it's only a matter of when, not if, most of us will be cut.

@OP Roger started looking the moment Witty got the Axe. Lisa likely around the same time. Divvy around when she got pulled into the OI morass outside her area of expertise in OFS. SD has no equivalent self awareness.

Others have left and I'm sure we'll see more unannounced departures including those brought on under Witty/Roger. SD is building a full structure to replace OI departments with former OT buddies. If folks like product leaders don't see the writing on the wall and jet, it's on them.

You don't know that will be no more layoffs this year. This is absurd, even it was said by your leadership.

Everyone is laying off it seems. Not a bad idea. May take months to even get an interview.

The reason we are seeing aggressive RIFs and offshoring is to cut costs as revenues stagnate. And revenues stagnate because this company has only appointed individuals in leadership poistions who had a patron in the system (and they still do), not because these individuals have merit. As long as we have this patron system in place where people appointed to leadership positions have no qualification except a relationship to a a higher up patron, expect this cycle to continue, as one inept leader appoints their inept proteges to positions of power you will see this company and its stock decline. No amount of AI or offshoring can prevent this decline. Relationships cannot save the decline, only performance can. Just count the number of so called leaders who left, resigned or were forced to leave, every single one of them was an inept appointee of some halfwit.
