They’re flattening the hierarchy and cutting out bureaucracy questioning why roles like VP and AVP are even needed.

According to CNBC the total number cut will be closer to 30,000. Many different roles affected sales operations, marketing, AWS, etc. The cuts are wide and deep. Amazon has approximately 1.5 million employees. Layoffs are always painful but especially now as opportunities for employment diminish. Very sad.

And they are constantly hiring in Atlanta. I see the job postings and notices daily. Not somewhere I’d like to work as their culture is as bad as ours.
