If you were one of the people that did download the list, I received an email from Cybersecurity letting me know I broke policy by accessing sensitive information. They only asked to respond back to confirm any copies have been deleted, and if you distributed the list, to let them know where you shared it. My director was CCd on the email, but they didn’t think it was a big deal and moved on. There will only be action taken if you don’t respond to the email.

@vn nope!
@j7 I heard a rumor that discord had real names listed. not sure if its true but i assume that is a privacy and perhaps lawsuit risk? idk either way mishandled both by leadership and snoopy employees which is always natural especially with the way things were handled by leadership..
Leadership and IT are still in charge of preventing and having the foresight to know this would have been a potential issue
@OP any update from them?
@h9 Which Andrew?
@a3 you can probably go to AD and download a list of people who got this email ;)
@j5 the list was meant to be private, just like the calendar invites. If they wanted everyone to know they would have published it and done non-private meetings. Someone went LOOKIKG for the private info because they wanted to know who, found it, and shared it trying to be a hero. It’s common sense they should not have done so, some people just lack having it.
@j7 which discord?
@j5 They don't want the list leaking outside of Target HQ. The long layoff delay with multiple discussions moving to Reddit, Discord, & this site scared leadership. Once again, the C-suite underestimated their ability to fu*K up something simple.
@h9 I feel like they are trying to hide something…. Maybe the list could be used in some sort of discrimination lawsuit against them so they are trying to bury it
just self-report and be done with it…end of worries
Someone help me understand what the problem is. It’s internal data, not confidential. We can all see who’s deactivated in slack, we can all see the org structure in workday.
What exactly is the problem, why was Andrew fired, and why is IT following up with those who saw it now?
@OP This only happens once they initiated a layoff, prior to that phones, laptops etc can screenshot and send external emails. But once they initiate a layoff all of those flag their systems. --- Any info you want, use a web based data storage like Wetransfer or drop box to send it to whatever email address you want.
@eg nope!
@OP did you hear from them yet?
The people who posted the AD group were id--ts, but in all honesty the HR and IT folks who created a browseable group of laid off employees are even worse. Once you have the AD group name you can simply look up the members.
@a4 lawsuit?! 😂
@a3 HR has a corrective action policy. It lays out what should occur if someone breaks a company policy. I’m guessing like this might end up going in your employee file as coaching, at worse a final warning.
@a4 a lawsuit over what? No attorney will take this case. People violated policy. End of story.
@at Some d-mb d-mbs pulled together a list of impacted employees and shared it across Target Slack channels. Search "#YELLING" and you will find more info.

For outsiders, what is this list all about? How and what.. can someone care to share details..
I can’t believe the list is the hill some of yall are choosing to die on. Why is it so important to know the identities of who was laid off? The WARN information wasn’t enough for you?
HR stands for, "hoeass ratchets"
Target is just another corporate devils playground. You think being honorable is going to help you feed your family? If so, Darwinism would say you’ll be weeding yourself out
@a2 is that you Christopher?
@ab I reported someone. Not getting fired for this d-mb sh*t.
HR is just a bunch of losers. Their only job is to reduce liability of company
I’m glad they are cracking down. Anyone who looked for this list, posted it, downloaded it or shared it broke a basic but important data security rule we have in place. We take training for this every year, you should know better. Anyone who defends the actions of those who did above should also be getting emails. I see several in the YELLING channel with the nerve to actually make an ethics complaint…unreal. Hope HR is watching.
Rule number 1….. don’t ever tell on yourself. The punishment isn’t lighter.
@ag I have just seen this story being played out on this site.. I have no involvement in any of this list business
@af around 3pm
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH OH SHITTTT WHAT TIME DID THEY SEND THE EMAIL
@ad HR has joined the chat
@ab do what is ethical.

@aa I agree with you. Knowing what I know now I shouldn't have even looked in the first place. But not sure what the point of your response is when it doesn't refute anything I said
@aa Should I report someone for sending it to me?
@a9 but they know you accessed and looked at it…you were not supposed to
Just adding another data point, I looked at the list without downloading or sharing it and I did not receive an email
My guess, Legal/HR/Executives probably know everyone who violated the Business Code of Conduct. In my opinion, if you violated the Business Code of Conduct, it would be best to turn yourself in.
@a1 They might be trying to catch people in a lie. If it was shared within the company, they already know.
@a5 I did not receive a response
