Negotiating Severance

For those of us impacted this week, does Target have any track record of negotiating severance?

There is no negotiation, they just will reply with this is standard blah blah. You would have to have enough people align to not take this severance & if someone had grounds of wrongful determination, discrimination etc. but without people willing to support a claim, evidence etc, the severance is the best route. And also just get it over with, detach from them.

No negotiating at all on the severance. Unless you have grounds for any reason but Target is a big entity and has good lawyers.

Let go from another entity once. Had documentation to prove retaliation. Attorney took money, heard my story and offered professional opinion. Take the package. Did not sign anything did not take a penny. Thanked lord for the courage he gave me to walk away. Very skeptical of any business with a "mission statement" ever since. Unless the entity caused serious pain and suffering for really long time, and you have notes showing everytime you flushed toilet from since before you joined target, employment at will is cut and dry. Then this is a well advertised mass RIF. I honestly dont know why do we have to go through the virtual trainings that says dont do wrong. It's pointless really.
That being said, I know how you feel, please talk to an attorney. Search NELA ORG. Usually first 15 min is free then an hour of consultancy. Depending on where you are expect to pay 150 - 300 bucks. Do it, if nothing you will feel tad bit better that you did.

Do you have leverage? If not, sign it.

What do you have to offer in your negotiation?

Unless you're a fancy-pants lawyer, and "know where the bodies are buried", you're not going to get anything more than standard.
