Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

PLEASE CHANGE THE RETIREMENT POLICY

So folks can retire earlier without taking such a reduction. Please make it years of service plus age = a magic number for full retirement pay. This would be the best way to get those higher salaries off the books.

Have a close friend who works in HR and she told me there are no plans to freeze the pension. So don’t believe the rumors on here. Pension is safe. I am happy because I have 26 more years before I reach my 35 years and plan on living an additional 30 plus years after I retire. Thank you State Farm for paying me for the next 65 years. Blessed

Ohhhh no, State Farm practices the oldest trick in the book. Promise you something that they never expect or want to pay! It's not called Snake Farm for a reason! We say we are like a good neighbor but find every way possible to not pay a claim. People are then surprised when they treat employees the same way as they try to force you out the door and make your life miserable so you don't really get any kind of pension. Or force you to take a very reduced pension. To work to 62 or 65 at this place takes an absolute herculean effort, a huge amount of luck or you have to check some "woke" box that protects you. Ohh and the beating you are going to take to make it to 62 is not worth it as you will probably retire and then die with a heart attack as a result of all the stress.
