Is this a real simplification and an efficiency measure? Maybe? But it may as well be cover for offshoring to TII + Contractors. I do have tendency to be paranoid tho.

They eliminated our US director so everybody reports directly to India now. It's not hard to see which way the wind is blowing.

It depends on how it's implemented. It's likely hugely tricky to fire the right people.
