Myself and a few other colleagues have received the “important business update” email this morning. Good luck folks, going to be a bumpy ride..

Sometimes it's political...
There are people in leadership roles who are there because of who they know.
Then they bring in their people.
@ee+1k8ngh2ws executive re--rds demand $ reduction in payroll and the demand gets cascaded down.
A lot of folks are saying the "slackers" were let go. Based on the names in my vicinity, they lost some very invested, talented people. Why would they do that? Does anyone know how people are selected...is it random?
Last year every VP was asked to offload a certain percentage of people at all levels.
The decisions were trickled down from there.
So depending on who made the decision, some of the most talented people were let go and now we're left with the consequences.
@b5 That is correct on the severance. It goes by your labor grade. Then, it goes by your years of service. It is not always a one week per year of service. The severance package is actually visible under a Colleague Zone.
Individual contributor here. I got laid off today along with several of my colleagues. I know it's hard out there, but I say good riddance. A good number of us, myself included, hate the way the design department is run. Lots of lap dogs and loads of a-s kissing. It takes forever for the smallest features to get developed because they require everyone under the sun and their grandmas to weigh in. It's become the most disorganized, inefficiently run place I've ever worked at. Complete amateur hour. Designers with well over of experience, like myself, aren't expected to lead projects anymore. We're just asked to clean up what someone else already put together. We're literally the cleanup crew, which is so incredibly demoralizing. So, again, I say good riddance because you cannot put a price on sanity.
OMG. How many people got laid off ?
Are they targeting non technical senior management ?
@bs I don’t think so.
@bs yes. You should receive your bonus through your last date of employment.
I know hundreds of engineers who have no work, they do multiple side jobs, remote for 8 years,
Yes, prorated based on ast date of employment.
They wont touch slackers 70% of them remote no work for years
@b8 what about bonuses? Are those generally paid out if one was in good standing with the company?
There are many bad apples still login in, do nothing, create chaos for others, make gossip on other people, and collect big pay checks. When are these people get laid off?
No engineer was touched, we are cash cows remote
Many known senior management people are fired today morning 9:30 AM.
The movement of people from Aetna to DDAT regardless of what they did was a warning.
Gave some people a bridge to hide out under for a year or two even if they lacked the skills to be there.
@b5 Again... depends where you land on the totem pole. I was a SM and it was 1 week of severance for each year of service. So, it's not inaccurate on my part. Can't check workday cause they retired me... after 29 years. :)
I guess since the stock didn’t pop after the last 2 layoffs in ‘23 and ‘24, they’re keeping these layoffs hush hush

Generally severance will max out at 20-26 weeks. You can find your grade in your Workday profile > Compensation > Compensation Grade.
@b1 that is not accurate. Severance is completely based on job level and years of service. For example, job grades 409, 410, 411 are eligible for 13 weeks of severance for 0-4 years of service. An additional week or two 5+ years. Job grades 412+ automatically get 26 weeks severance….
@az It's one week for each year of service. If it were 10K per year of service, I would have been racking in the monies when I got hit last year. Unless you are higher up on the totem pole and there are different payout requirements, the norm is 1 week of severance per year of service.
On PTO from PBM finance. Is it worth texting my manager over this or is the PBM not part of it?
Title of rif's?
Sev 10k per year of service
I normally don't respond, but I have seen quite a bit these last few years, and it seems to be the ones they're laying off are the good ones. So i'm not comprehending that of where the rhyme or reason is behind their decisions. I definitely know some who should be laid off and for some reason, they are still here.
I'm hoping the best for everybody who has been impacted. Good things will come to you.
Also since I am making a comment, I will add here the disillusionment of the nastiness of some comments being made here on this site.
Are they offering severance?
@ah we have too many of them anyhow. We need more people doing the work, not piling more on.
Senior software engineers remote, waitig for promotion
Whats the title, qa?
If you are impacted, please reach out to former colleagues via linkedin. Add to your network.
Look for Zlpeople who worked at Aetna or CVS who have been let go or moved on.
Networking is critical.
I am sorry for the talent that was lost.
Impacted over here on digital product
@af
Sounds like LDs and EDs....
Just pharmacy? What about legacy Aetna?
Overheads who had no work for 6 plus years remote being shown the door
Not engineering, no work and fun,
So far I’m hearing impacts across the board: health records, scheduling, visit manager, pharmacy product, etc.
PCW product
I’m really sorry. Can I ask what LOB you are on?
