The whole Jira Align mission has been a complete disaster for everyone involved.

@xz The tools they give us are horrible.
Everything seems to be designed to produce a report to managers first, solve any really problems second, efficient interface? Dead last.

CSG is more likely to be spun out of Dell than ISG. ISG is the AI play in Dell.

Learn the following mantra...."Oracle is our company, Dell/EMC is our brand"

@nh When I posted the original item explaining spinoffs I was speculating how it could work. I have no knowledge of MD or his fellow plutocrats plans.

MSD Holdings coming "soon".

Dell ISG, CSG, and Consulting Services will be separated into their own entities as shell corps under MSD holdings.

@ng I have yet to have NBA provide any useful information. All hallucinations and references to unrelated documents.

@mq Spun off means it will be a separate company. Sort of like when VMware was spun off. MD will make big money on his share and will probably retain enough of an investment that he will profit when it becomes successful. With luck they will go back to using the old EMC name and keep whatever leadership left from EMC that still wants to concentrate on data storage and protection.

@dz AI has a long way before it can replace thousands of ISG jobs.
The NBA tool, which is still very buggy, has taken more than two years and it’s still not 100% helpful. Maybe not even 60%

@n7 U sit within earshot of that team. The rumors came from their own mouths.

@mm where are those rumors coming from?

Oracle and Sun Microsystems all over again, this time it's for EMC DNA.

"Spun Off" where?

@ma I've heard nothing concrete about Cyber Recovery, just a lot of rumors that Dell is looking at shutting it down. Unity storage support will fully transition to partner support middle of next year with complete EOL of the entire product line by 2030.

any ISG products that are on the line to be to be sunsetted, such as Cyber Recovery or Data Manager?

@f7 PowerEdge is part of ISG

Focus is on AI servers. Legacy Dell (PowerEdge) is supporting those, not ISG. I believe these rumours and I’m in ISG myself.

It’s just a matter of how long it will take and if they are planning on getting rid all of ISG, which I doubt.

There are XE job openings, I’d be applying for those.

AI can replace thousands of jobs right now. I predict massive layoffs early next year. I hope they allow Voluntary Severence Packages so people that need a salary can keep their job and provide for their families.

Regarding ISG being eliminated there is no way this is true, but I do see major layoffs in the future.

@be Not that this is true but, in pretend world lets pretend it is true... Hes at 150b, and Elon is at 500b. MD has a LONG LONG LONG ways to go... Especially with a company like... dell.

@da Funny how Dell management has ruined the L-EMC part of this company and you think EMC managers are the smooth brains.

Doubtful.. too many smooth brain EMC people run the show. All JC can say is client. But ISG makes the big revenue.

I would love yi be spun off from Dell but no way they're getting rid of the more profitable part of the company.

100% True. Once the AI infra business is large enough the rest of the L-EMC business will be spun off

@be Too bad MD is absolutely sh-t at innovation and is not even in the same league as the actual richest man in the world when it comes to that.

I understand the need to cash out though, if the last truly revolutionising thing you came up with was 40+ years ago you are already living on borrowed time.

Just too bad he decided to fu-k everyone that helped him along the way, but "that's business", I suppose.
