Unemployment

Has anyone here from NJ who got the boot able to get unemployment? I was let go after 27 years. I would also like to try collecting unemployment too.

@OP All that you do on the unemployment application you fill out your info specifics and then check in each week you are looking for a job.

Yes you can collect unemployment in NJ. I received unemployment as well as my package. Keep track of your job searches in case they audit you. I was never asked for any documentation while collecting.

I was let go in March after 25 years and got full severance. I live & worked in NJ and ghough it was a pain in the neck, was able to get unemployment. They reserve the right to audit your job search, so keep a spreadsheet of every job application that you send out so you can prove you are looking. Good luck!!!

So sorry to here’s about the layoff. It seems many people that are “lifers” are being let go. I don’t know about unemployment or what was told to you but I am interested if they gave you any severance pay, and if so how many weeks? Or did they sc--w you over with some made up policy violation?
